Day 4263

Delicious lunch, excellent board game, finally spaghetti, excellent movie…. And then mom drops the slipper bomb.

Day 4262

You never know what to expect when your child tells you about an interaction they had with a teacher; one kid told their teacher about a Eurovision performance that included a modesty garment and pyrotechnic short shorts, and the other learned her teacher used to collect McDonalds burger wrappers, iron them, and smell them.

So I guess it isn’t always us being outed as the weirdos.

Day 4261

Thank goodness we can turn the night around by bringing vertical pants into the fray. And attack donkeys.

Tuesday, May 28, 2024

Day 4260

I was going to blame my recent gardening rampages for my aching back, but now I remember that Banana was definitely stepping on the cracks on the sidewalk on purpose…

Monday, May 27, 2024

Day 4259

NOBODY TOLD ME THERE WERE BLACKSMITHS (sorta) NEARBY!!!

Sunday, May 26, 2024

Day 4258

Lego, library books, and surprise gardening.

Day 4257

And now we find out what all is on vinyl.

Day 4256

Please grade the attached random pdf that is totally unrelated to the assignment according to the rubric.

Thursday, May 23, 2024

Day 4255

Mow, mow, mow the lawn
Gently through the weeds…

Wednesday, May 22, 2024

Day 4254

Happy Birthday Husband! For this birthday you get to learn the meaning of life. And you also get Lego.

Admittedly I’m making some assumptions about the first thing…

Tuesday, May 21, 2024

Day 4253

I wonder how old Banana will be when she is officially running the household…

Monday, May 20, 2024

Day 4252

It’s weird to have kids say they never want to leave this house and then have them quickly staking out bedrooms in a potential house.

Saturday, May 18, 2024

Day 4250

There are no rules for what children will like, only exceptions.

Friday, May 17, 2024

Day 4249

Gaping world-building holes maybe should not drive me this crazy, but REALLY?!?!

REALLY?!?

Thursday, May 16, 2024

Day 4249

 Rain, rain, come and play.

Keep the fires and drought away.

Wednesday, May 15, 2024

Day 4248

It’s nice to get several hours with no whining.

Tuesday, May 14, 2024

Day 4247

Not to count my chickens, but tomorrow is map day, right? Right?! RIGHT?!?!

Monday, May 13, 2024

Day 4246

Back to bananas, now with more leaks.

Sunday, May 12, 2024

Day 4245

The only way to get the children to leave their grandparents’ house quickly: threaten them with no library books.

Saturday, May 11, 2024

Day 4244

Probably the children will continue to enjoy watching Eurovision (even though they always hate new songs) if we make it a feast day.

But not a sausage party. Which our boy would also like to celebrate. With real sausages.

Day 4243

Just sitting around, waiting for the Rupture.

Thursday, May 9, 2024

Day 4242

Find a horse book for one daughter and watch kitten rescue videos with the other - just asking for trouble.

Wednesday, May 8, 2024

Day 4241

You can just rest, little one. You don’t have to do things all day. Just rest. Maybe give up those bad habits now…

Tuesday, May 7, 2024

Day 4240

When you realize some of the Eurovision contestants were born in the wrong century…

Monday, May 6, 2024

Day 4239

Tricked the Banana into having a nap; only almost fell asleep myself about twenty seven times.

Sunday, May 5, 2024

Day 4238

Is it unseemly to laugh when your neighbours leave food out for the deer and the deer eat the food and also the new plants in their flowerbeds?

Saturday, May 4, 2024

Day 4237

We might have to try to find a happy medium between five library books and maxing out the card.

Friday, May 3, 2024

Thursday, May 2, 2024

Day 4235

Banana, not sure what colour her sister’s hair is, then wondering if her own hair is beige.

Wednesday, May 1, 2024

Day 4234

No one was more excited about her siblings’ concert than little Banana.
