Day 384

When you live in an apartment building, or in a house with other people, it is understood that you should avoid being obnoxiously loud. You keep your music to believably loud levels, you try to avoid screaming matches, you don't smash things, etc.

Moving into our own house means we don't have to follow those rules anymore. As long as we aren't bothering people IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT BUILDING - we're fine! It's a whole new ballgame. So we've been enjoying hollering at each other around the house (which is kinda weird - the idea that the other person could be on a totally different floor... And on a floor sufficiently remote that they can't hear you - is just bananas.), and making weird noises, and singing and dancing and stomping.

Having guests in the house means we have to be civil again, and pay attention to the fact that other people are sleeping, and may want to keep sleeping.

All of this to say that I now have to tell Husband to use his library voice, because his idea of an indoor voice is not dissimilar to what other people use as their outdoor voice.

It almost works.
